Ashis Sinha Reflects on Cricketing Battles Against Australia
Ashis Sinha, a former cricketer, expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of the pitch at Keenan Stadium, where Kerala bowlers struggled against Jharkhand. He noted that the wicket was unusually flat.
Sinha, who played for Bihar and East Zone, has a history of facing notable players, including former Australian captain Kim Hughes and opener Graham Yallop, as well as West Indies Test players. His career was cut short by injury, but he fondly remembers taking wickets of Hughes and Yallop during his matches.
In a match in 1979 at Cuttack, Sinha's swing bowling led to Hughes being dismissed lbw and Yallop bowled out. He also faced Rodney Hogg and Geoff Lawson during that game, which ended in a four-wicket victory for his team. Sinha recalls the talent of players like Allan Border and Malcolm Marshall, the latter of whom took 11 wickets in that match.
