Ashton Jeanty Absent from Practice as Recovery Continues
Ashton Jeanty, a running back for the Raiders, was absent from practice on Tuesday as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle sustained during a practice on August 23.
The Raiders have not disclosed specific details regarding Jeanty's injury. Head coach Klint Kubiak mentioned that the team is relying on Jeanty to participate in Week 1, although General Manager John Spytek did not confirm a timeline for his return.
Spytek noted that Jeanty is making progress and is in a positive state of mind as he works hard on his recovery. Jeanty, who was the sixth overall pick in the 2025 draft, had a productive previous season, playing all 17 games and accumulating 975 yards and five touchdowns on 266 carries. The Raiders also drafted running back Mike Washington, who performed well in the preseason.
