Ashton Jeanty Injured During Raiders Practice
Ashton Jeanty, a running back for the Las Vegas Raiders, suffered a lower body injury during a practice session on Sunday in Henderson, Nevada. He was assisted off the field after falling awkwardly while attempting to catch a pass.
Jeanty remained on the ground before trainers and medical staff helped him, and he was unable to put weight on his right leg as he departed. His teammates knelt in prayer as he received assistance.
The 22-year-old is entering his second season with the Raiders after being selected as the No. 6 overall pick in last year's draft. In his rookie season, Jeanty recorded 975 rushing yards and five touchdowns, along with 346 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Should his injury prove serious, rookie Mike Washington Jr. may see an increased role, as he has been a standout during training camp.
