Aston Martin and Red Bull Address Engine Partnership Speculation
Aston Martin has confirmed its ongoing commitment to Honda following a challenging start, while Red Bull Powertrains has stated it lacks the ambition and capacity to supply engines to external teams.
This discussion arose during post-race media sessions after the US Grand Prix in Austin, where representatives from both teams were questioned about a potential partnership. The inquiry stemmed from a BBC article that suggested customer teams might be interested in Red Bull's competitive power unit, but it clarified that no teams are currently seeking new engines.
Aston Martin's chief trackside officer emphasized the team's long-term partnership with Honda, which has shown potential despite current shortcomings. Meanwhile, Red Bull's team principal noted that while their engine project has exceeded expectations, they are not prepared to supply additional teams at this time, focusing instead on improving their own performance.
