Aston Villa Finalizes Deal for Zion Suzuki as Emiliano Martinez Nears Juventus Move
Aston Villa is set to welcome goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Parma, following an agreement on a transfer fee. The deal, reported by The Athletic, is valued at an initial £26 million, potentially increasing to £30 million.
The need for a new goalkeeper arises as Emiliano Martinez prepares to leave Villa Park for Juventus. The Italian club is reportedly ready to offer £6 million upfront for the 33-year-old, with an additional £2.5 million in add-ons. Aston Villa is aiming for the full £8.5 million upfront, but a compromise is anticipated.
Zion Suzuki, 23, previously had a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain fall through earlier this summer. He made his international debut for Japan in 2022 and played all four matches for his country in the 2026 World Cup.
