Aston Villa Signs Leon Goretzka on Free Transfer

Aston Villa has completed the signing of Leon Goretzka, a former midfielder for Bayern Munich, on a free transfer. The 31-year-old player departed Bayern at the conclusion of the last season after achieving significant success, including seven Bundesliga titles and a Champions League victory.

Goretzka's arrival is seen as a vital addition to a Villa team undergoing a significant transformation under manager Unai Emery, especially as they prepare for a Champions League campaign. The club is looking to strengthen its midfield following the departure of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the injury of Amadou Onana, who is sidelined due to an ACL rupture sustained during the World Cup.
