Aston Villa Signs Nicolas Jackson for Club-Record £65m and Agrees to Sign Ibrahim Mbaye
Aston Villa has officially announced the signing of Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea in a record-breaking deal valued at £65 million. This acquisition comes as a replacement for Ollie Watkins, who is on the verge of a £50 million transfer to Al Hilal.
The fixed fee for Jackson is reported to be £47.5 million, with the total package exceeding the previous record of £59.5 million set for Johan Maznambi earlier this summer. Jackson's signing marks the second time Villa has broken their transfer record this window.
In addition to Jackson, Aston Villa has reached a verbal agreement to sign Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain. The club had previously shown interest in Mbaye, especially after missing out on AC Milan's Rafa Leao. Mbaye, who primarily plays as a right winger, made 24 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. The club is undergoing significant changes, with several players leaving and new signings being made to strengthen the squad.
