Aston Villa Signs Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea for £65 Million

Aston Villa has finalized the acquisition of Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea in a transfer deal valued at up to £65 million. Unai Emery announced that the Senegal international will spearhead Villa's attack as the team adjusts to life without Ollie Watkins.

The agreement includes an initial fee of £47.5 million, with additional performance-related add-ons potentially increasing the total. Jackson's transfer marks the third significant transaction between Villa and Chelsea this summer, following Morgan Rogers' record £117 million transfer to Chelsea and Alejandro Garnacho's loan to Villa.

This signing facilitates Watkins' anticipated move to Al Hilal, with reports indicating that a deal worth €58.4 million plus add-ons has been reached. Jackson, who previously played under Emery at Villarreal, scored 30 goals in 81 appearances for Chelsea and spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, contributing to their double success in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal. He may be available for Villa's upcoming match against Arsenal, pending a fitness assessment.
