Athletics and GM David Forst Part Ways
The Oakland Athletics have announced that general manager David Forst will not continue with the team, having mutually agreed to part ways. This decision comes during Forst's 12th season in the position.
Dan Feinstein, the assistant general manager, will serve as the interim GM for the remainder of the season while the team searches for a permanent replacement. Forst has been with the organization since 2000 and has held the GM role since 2015.
Team owner John Fisher expressed gratitude for Forst's contributions, highlighting his integral role in shaping the team's baseball operations. Forst had received a new contract last September as the Athletics navigate a transition period while planning a move to Las Vegas in 2028. The team currently holds a record of 45-70, placing them near the bottom of the AL West.
