Athletics GM David Forst Leaves Organization Amid Las Vegas Move

The Oakland Athletics have confirmed the departure of general manager David Forst, who has mutually agreed to part ways with the organization as they prepare for their move to Las Vegas.

Forst's contract was set to expire at the end of the season, but both parties decided to end their relationship early. He has been with the Athletics for 27 years, serving as GM since 2015, and has played a significant role in shaping the team's baseball operations.

Reports indicate that Forst's decision to leave was influenced by his reluctance to relocate to Las Vegas, as he and his family are settled in California. Assistant GM Dan Feinstein will serve as interim GM for the remainder of the 2026 season. The Athletics are currently playing in Sacramento and plan to move to Las Vegas in 2028.
