The Athletics aim to finalize their selection before the end of the current season, following the dismissal of former GM David Forst over a month ago.

Rizzo has a notable history in baseball, having led the Nationals to a World Series victory in 2019. Owens, who has been with the Athletics for nearly 30 years, would be a first-time GM.
