Athletics Place J.T. Ginn on Injured List, Recall Jack Perkins
The Oakland Athletics have announced that right-handed pitcher J.T. Ginn has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right elbow impingement. In his absence, Jack Perkins has been recalled to the major league team.
Ginn has not pitched since August 26, when he secured a win against the Twins, allowing four earned runs over six innings. Although he has not been ruled out for the remainder of the season, any injury at this stage could potentially be season-ending. His condition has shown some improvement, and there is a possibility he may return to the mound before the season concludes.
This marks Ginn's second stint on the injured list this season, having previously missed time due to a blister. He has recorded a 3.71 ERA over a career-high 138 1/3 innings this year. Meanwhile, Perkins, who has struggled with control, will likely fill in for Ginn in the rotation, having made 13 starts and 20 relief appearances this season.
