Atlanta Braves Likely to Keep Ronald Acuña Jr. This Offseason
The Atlanta Braves are reportedly not planning to trade Ronald Acuña Jr. during the upcoming offseason. According to Jon Heyman from The New York Post, while other teams may pursue a trade for the star outfielder, an actual deal is considered a significant longshot.
Acuña, who has completed nine seasons with the Braves, had a challenging regular season, finishing with a .255 batting average, 20 home runs, and 55 RBIs over 107 games. His performance in the playoffs was even less impressive, as he batted .125 without any extra-base hits during Atlanta's loss in the NLDS.
Looking ahead, Acuña's future remains uncertain, particularly after suffering ACL tears in both knees over the past five years. The Braves hold club options for Acuña through 2028 at $17 million each, suggesting they may prefer to keep him for at least another season to assess his potential recovery and performance.
