Atlanta Falcons Sign Former Eagles Tight End E.J. Jenkins
The Atlanta Falcons have signed former Philadelphia Eagles tight end E.J. Jenkins to their practice squad as they continue to refine their roster amid a competitive NFC South season.
Jenkins, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 245 pounds, brings experience from a Super Bowl-winning team and a skill set that aligns with modern offensive strategies. Initially entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent after playing wide receiver at Georgia Tech, he developed into a tight end during his time with the Eagles, where he was recognized for his physical attributes and versatility.
During the current season, Jenkins participated in all six games for the Eagles, starting two, although he did not record any receptions. He contributed on special teams and made a couple of tackles. The Falcons' tight-end roster already includes established players, and Jenkins is not expected to take on a significant offensive role immediately. His signing offers Atlanta a low-risk opportunity to enhance their depth and blocking capabilities while allowing Jenkins to showcase his potential for a future active roster spot.
