Atlanta Falcons Sign Running Back Trey Sermon

The Atlanta Falcons have added running back Trey Sermon to their roster following a successful workout on Monday.

Sermon, who is 27 years old, was originally selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers after playing at Ohio State. He was among the final roster cuts by the 49ers as a rookie and was subsequently claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he was later released by the Eagles due to an injury designation and was waived from injured reserve with a settlement.

After his time with the Eagles, Sermon joined the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad and was later promoted to the active roster. He returned to the Colts on a one-year contract last year but was eventually released. Sermon then spent time on the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad, appearing in four games in 2025 without recording any statistics.
