Atletico Madrid Negotiates Cristian Romero Transfer from Tottenham

Atletico Madrid is currently in negotiations to sign Cristian Romero, the captain of Tottenham Hotspur. Inter Milan has also shown interest in the player but is unable to proceed until they sell some of their own players.

Discussions regarding transfer figures have taken place between Atletico and Tottenham, although no formal offer has been made yet. Romero, who signed a contract extension last summer that runs until 2029, is anticipated to leave Spurs this summer.

Atletico Madrid has made strides in offloading players, with Matteo Ruggeri nearing a transfer to Aston Villa and Nahuel Molina expected to join Roma, which could facilitate their pursuit of Romero. Tottenham's center-back roster has expanded following recent signings, and head coach Roberto De Zerbi has indicated he would not obstruct Romero's potential departure.
