Attendance Decline in The Hundred Tournament for 2026

The Hundred cricket tournament has experienced a decline in attendance in 2026, with ticket sales dropping to 550,000 from 580,000 in 2025. This season marks the first under new private ownership after the England and Wales Cricket Board sold stakes in all eight teams for £975 million.

Despite the overall decrease, the demographic composition of attendees remained consistent, with 22% of tickets sold to juniors, 40% to families, and 28% to female attendees. The tournament's director expressed confidence in the quality of this year's edition, claiming it to be one of the best in its history.

Attendance varied significantly across venues, with some experiencing drops due to rebranding while others, like Cardiff's Sophia Gardens, saw record crowds. Ticket prices have also increased at certain venues, with adult tickets reaching up to £55 at The Oval, although many grounds offered lower prices for advance purchases.
