Auburn Tigers Football Preview for 2026
Auburn football is preparing for the 2026 season after experiencing its fifth consecutive losing season in 2025, leading to the dismissal of head coach Hugh Freeze. The program has since appointed Alex Golesh, who previously turned around the USF program, as its new head coach.
Golesh has revamped the Tigers' offense, bringing in ten of the eleven projected starters through the transfer portal. Byrum Brown, a dual-threat quarterback with a strong performance in 2025, has joined the team, along with a top-15 running back unit and several key receivers from USF.
Despite the influx of talent, concerns remain regarding the offensive line, which must be rebuilt after losing all six linemen who played significant snaps last season. The success of the new offense will depend on the development of this line, as Auburn aims to improve its performance and potentially qualify for a bowl game for the first time in three years.
