Audi Confirms No Further Engine Upgrades for 2023 Season
Audi's racing director, Allan McNish, has stated that the team will not pursue any further engine upgrades for the remainder of the 2023 season. This decision comes despite the team scoring points in their last three races and showing signs of improvement.
McNish noted that while the recent upgrade introduced in Spain has enhanced drivability, the budget cap limits the possibility of additional upgrades this year. He emphasized the need for a strategic approach to upgrades, balancing immediate improvements with future developments.
Looking ahead, McNish indicated that significant changes to the power unit are not expected until 2027, as the team focuses on optimizing current systems and chassis performance in the interim.
