Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 to Compete at Sachsenring DTM Weekend
Audi will make an unexpected return to the DTM series with the R8 LMS GT3 Evo2 at the Sachsenring during the penultimate round of the season. This development comes just days after the Seyffarth team had canceled their guest entry, which has now been officially confirmed by the ADAC.
The car, numbered 77, will be driven by 21-year-old Simon Connor Primm, who has been competing in the ADAC GT Masters series this season. Primm, a local from Saxony, has previously secured pole position at the Lausitzring and is excited about his DTM debut.
The Seyffarth team, which had initially postponed their DTM entries until 2027, will now participate under the name Seyffarth Motorsport. Although they missed a recent test at the Sachsenring, they are familiar with the new DTM spec tires from earlier tests. The team will not earn points for this guest entry, but it ensures Audi's continued presence in the DTM, a series they have been part of since 2000.
