Austin Smotherman Wins Second PGA Tour Title at Bermuda Championship
Austin Smotherman achieved his second PGA Tour title by defeating Seamus Power in a play-off at the Bermuda Championship on Monday, after adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of the final round on Sunday.
The 32-year-old golfer parred the third extra hole to clinch the victory, having previously won in Utah earlier this month. Smotherman finished the tournament with rounds of 65, 66, and 66, totaling 16 under par, while Power matched this score with rounds of 66, 64, and 67.
During the play-off, Power missed a crucial putt on the first hole but managed to extend the contest to a third hole. However, Smotherman secured the win with a two-putt from 15 feet after Power struggled to make par from the rough. Despite the loss, Power's runner-up finish solidifies his position for a PGA Tour card through 2027.
