Australian Teen Golfer Jessica Bang Dies in Thailand
Jessica Bang, an 18-year-old golfer from Australia, has died in Thailand following a brain haemorrhage. She collapsed on August 1 and was taken to Synphat Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok.
The WPGA Tour of Australasia confirmed her death in a statement released on Thursday night, expressing deep sadness over the loss of the young athlete. Bang was preparing to compete in the International Qualifying Tournament for the Korean women's professional tour at the time of her collapse.
Bang had recently made her mark in the sport, winning her first tournament in February at the Women's NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event, where she set a new course record with an impressive eight-under final round.
