Azhar Ali Discusses Decline of Pakistan's Test Cricket

Ali noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board's recent decision to remove teams like WAPDA and Sahir Associates from the domestic season has weakened the structure further. He criticized the PCB for frequently altering the domestic framework instead of allowing it to stabilize and develop over time.

He emphasized that while there is no shortage of young players eager to participate in cricket, financial support is crucial for them to pursue the sport. Ali highlighted that departmental cricket provided essential financial security, which is now lacking, potentially leading talented players to abandon the sport or seek opportunities abroad.
