Babar Azam reached a notable milestone while playing for Pakistan against England at Edgbaston, becoming the fourth batter to accumulate 2,000 runs as captain in the World Test Championship.

This achievement occurred during the third innings of the third Test, where Babar scored 76 runs off 103 balls, contributing to his total of 2,015 runs in the WTC. He now joins Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Dimuth Karunaratne in this exclusive group.

Babar achieved this landmark in 41 innings, making him the third-fastest captain to reach the 2,000-run mark, just behind Root and Karunaratne, who both did it in 40 innings. His innings included 11 boundaries and a six against Jofra Archer, marking his first half-century of the series after missing the opening Test due to injury.
