BAI Promises Enhanced Experience for Upcoming BWF World Championships
The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has announced significant upgrades to the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, in preparation for the BWF World Championships scheduled to begin on August 17. This announcement comes after the India Open faced backlash over facility conditions earlier this year.
BAI Secretary General Sanjay Mishra confirmed that all concerns raised during the India Open have been addressed, ensuring a better experience for players and fans. The venue has undergone extensive renovations, including improvements to cleanliness and air quality, which were previously criticized.
Mishra noted that the India Open served as a trial event, allowing organizers to identify and rectify issues before the World Championships. He expressed confidence that the upcoming event will be one of the best in history, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Sports Ministry and the Sports Authority of India in enhancing the stadium.
