Baker Mayfield Discusses Transition to New Offensive Coordinator Zac Robinson
After a disappointing season where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost seven of their last eight games, the team parted ways with offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard in January. Quarterback Baker Mayfield recently shared his thoughts on the change during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
Mayfield indicated that he is enjoying his collaboration with Robinson, who previously served as his passing game coordinator with the Los Angeles Rams. He noted that the new offensive strategy would incorporate a mix of rushing schemes, which he believes will enhance their performance compared to last season.
Despite facing challenges, including a significant injury last season, Mayfield is optimistic about the upcoming year and feels that the current coaching staff, including pass game coordinator TJ Yates and QB coach Chandler Whitmer, is well-equipped to support him. He emphasized the importance of play-action strategies and detailed coaching in achieving their goals.
