Bar Owners Consider Legal Action Over Sunday Ticket Changes
Bar and restaurant owners are exploring legal options following a misleading transition from satellite to streaming for NFL Sunday Ticket. Earlier this year, they were informed that DirecTV would no longer handle the Sunday Ticket, prompting many to invest in new streaming technology.
Reports indicate that some owners are unhappy after DirecTV announced a new deal for the Sunday Ticket, leaving those who upgraded their systems feeling misled. EverPass, the company responsible for distributing NFL products to commercial venues, had previously stated that satellite technology was obsolete and that they would be the sole distributor starting in the 2026 season.
As a result, bar owners who believed EverPass's assurances and invested in streaming capabilities are now facing financial losses. While no lawsuits have been filed yet, the possibility of litigation appears likely as affected owners seek recourse for their expenses.
