Barcelona Faces Striker Dilemma Ahead of La Liga Season
Barcelona is preparing for the upcoming La Liga season without a confirmed striker, as coach Hansi Flick has yet to replace Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, who both left the club during the summer transfer window.
Lewandowski departed for Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer after his contract expired, while Torres transferred to Paris St-Germain for approximately 50 million euros. This leaves Barcelona without a senior striker in their squad ahead of their first match against Elche on August 23.
The club has expressed interest in signing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, but Atletico's management has stated they will not sell him. Flick has considered using Lamine Yamal as a false nine, although he prefers to utilize the teenager on the right wing. Other options include Dani Olmo and Raphinha, while the club is also exploring potential signings like Viktor Gyokeres from Arsenal, Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan, and Luis Suarez from Sporting.
