Baron Corbin Retains WWE Men's US Title Against Carmelo Hayes
Baron Corbin successfully defended his United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes during WWE SmackDown.
Corbin controlled much of the match, while Hayes attempted to counter with quick, high-flying moves. Despite Hayes delivering a springboard reverse bulldog and a frog splash that nearly secured him a victory, Corbin regained control after countering Hayes' First 48 attempt with a big boot.
Corbin executed his Deep Six maneuver and attempted a pin, but Hayes kicked out. After a series of First 48s from Hayes, he climbed to the top rope for a finishing move, only for Corbin to counter and send him crashing to the floor. Corbin then finished the match with his End of Days move to retain the title. Following the match, Trick Williams confronted Corbin, with Lil Yachty distracting Corbin, allowing Williams to gain the upper hand.
