Baxter Sruk Supported by Coach for Tasmania AFL Draft
Baxter Sruk, a promising prospect for the 2027 AFL Draft, has received strong support from his junior coach, Lauren Morecroft, regarding his potential transition to Tasmania if the AFL's new team pre-lists him.
The club has the opportunity to secure 11 first-round draft picks from 2027 to 2029 and can sign up to 12 17-year-olds in 2026 and 2027. Morecroft described Sruk as a composed player who prefers to let his performance speak for itself, emphasizing his enjoyment of the game and teamwork.
After recovering from a toe injury, Sruk has participated in nine Talent League matches and one game for Vic Metro at the Under-18s National Championships, showcasing his strong ball-winning skills. Morecroft highlighted his ability to perform under pressure, noting that he rises to the occasion when needed.
