BCCI Confirms India-Sri Lanka ODI Will Remain in Delhi
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the opening One Day International (ODI) match between India and Sri Lanka will take place in Delhi as scheduled on December 13, 2026. This announcement comes in response to rumors suggesting a venue change to Ahmedabad.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated that there has been no decision to relocate the match, which is set to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The speculation arose due to ongoing construction work at the stadium, leading to concerns about its readiness for the international fixture.
Saikia emphasized that the allocation of venues for bilateral matches follows a standard policy, and reiterated that the match remains scheduled for Delhi. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is already confirmed to host the third ODI on December 19, 2026.
