BCCI to Increase Televised Duleep Trophy Matches
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the number of Duleep Trophy matches available for television broadcast will increase for the 2026-27 season, which begins on August 23 at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Last year's tournament faced criticism as the first-round matches were not televised and took place without spectators. In response to fan feedback, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated that the organization is committed to enhancing viewer access to the tournament. Additionally, the BCCI is considering the possibility of hosting the final at a larger stadium to accommodate an audience, although current land use restrictions limit crowd attendance at the CoE.
