Bearman to Use Upgraded Ferrari Engine at Monza
Oliver Bearman is set to utilize Haas's sole upgraded Ferrari power unit during the Italian Grand Prix, while Esteban Ocon will remain with the older specification.
This upgrade is part of Ferrari's second enhancement allowed under the Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities framework. Although customer teams can access the new specification, not all cars are guaranteed to receive it at the initial race.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu opted to allocate the updated unit to Bearman, as Ocon had previously received new components ahead of Bearman on two occasions. Both drivers will benefit from Haas's significant aerodynamic update, although Ocon noted that the older engine will likely hinder performance. The differences in engine specifications will be particularly noticeable at Monza, where engine efficiency is crucial due to the circuit's long full-throttle sections.
