Bears Activate Ozzy Trapilo After Knee Injury
The Chicago Bears have activated offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo from the physically unable to perform list, enabling him to return to practice on Sunday, seven months after suffering a ruptured patellar tendon.
Trapilo sustained the injury during the Bears' wild-card victory against the Green Bay Packers in January, which raised concerns about his availability for the 2026 NFL season. Despite earlier doubts from the Bears' front office regarding his recovery, his activation indicates a quicker-than-expected return, allowing him to participate in the remainder of training camp.
The Bears are still determining their starting left tackle, with Braxton Jones currently a leading candidate despite dealing with his own knee issues. In the preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns, Kiran Amegadjie and Jedrick Wills shared the position, but neither player made a notable impression.
