Bears Activate Shemar Turner from PUP List

The Chicago Bears have activated defensive lineman Shemar Turner from the reserve/physically unable to perform list, as announced by the team on Tuesday.

Turner's 21-day return-to-practice window was nearing its end, set to expire on Wednesday. His activation comes at a crucial time for the Bears, as starting defensive end Montez Sweat is suspended for two games due to a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing substances policy. Turner will fill Sweat's position on the 53-player roster.

Turner, selected in the second round of the 2025 draft, suffered a torn ACL in his right knee last season. He transitioned from defensive tackle to defensive end during the Week 5 bye last year and recorded six tackles, including two for loss, in five games as a rookie.
