Bears' Luther Burden Expected to Miss a Month Due to Injury
The Chicago Bears are hopeful that wide receiver Luther Burden will be available for their season opener against the Carolina Panthers, despite an expected month-long absence due to a groin injury sustained during practice on Saturday.
According to reports, Burden's injury will prevent him from participating in preseason activities, but he is projected to return in time for the regular-season kickoff on September 13. Last season, Burden recorded 47 receptions as a rookie, ranking second among Bears wide receivers.
With D.J. Moore no longer on the team, the Bears are looking for Burden to take on a larger role this season. Head coach Ben Johnson has expressed confidence in Burden's abilities and anticipates a significant performance from him in his second year.
