Bears Safety Coby Bryant Undergoes Knee Surgery, Out for 4-6 Months

Coby Bryant, safety for the Chicago Bears, has recently undergone knee surgery and will be sidelined for four to six months, according to head coach Ben Johnson.

The surgery took place late last week, extending Bryant's recovery period beyond the initial estimate of two to three months. If his recovery progresses on the shorter end of the timeline, he may return in time for the end of the regular season and potential playoff games, although this is uncertain.

This injury poses a challenge for the Bears' defense, especially after they signed Bryant following his Super Bowl victory with the Seahawks. Xavier Woods is currently listed behind Bryant on the depth chart, with Dillon Thieneman as a starter and several others in reserve roles.
