Bears Seek Trade for Pass Rusher Amid Roster Changes
After initially seeming unlikely to add to their pass rushing unit, the Chicago Bears have shifted their stance, bringing in veteran Marcus Davenport as training camp progressed.
Davenport was not included in the Bears' initial 53-man roster and is currently on the taxi squad. Chicago's general manager, Ryan Poles, is reportedly still in search of a strong edge rusher to complement Montez Sweat on the defensive line, with ESPN's Dan Graziano suggesting a potential trade could be on the horizon.
While no specific trade targets have been named, the Bears previously considered acquiring Maxx Crosby from the Raiders. Other potential candidates include Josh Sweat from the Cardinals and Kayvon Thibodeaux from the Giants, though both teams are hesitant to part with their players. The Bears currently have limited cap space, which may complicate any trade efforts.
