Bears Trade Gervon Dexter Sr. to Falcons for Clark Phillips III and Draft Pick
The Chicago Bears have finalized a trade sending defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. to the Atlanta Falcons. In return, the Bears will receive cornerback Clark Phillips III and a fifth-round draft pick.
This move comes as the Falcons seek to strengthen their defensive front after losing two key edge rushers, Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. Dexter, who has recorded at least five sacks in each of his two seasons as a starter, is expected to contribute as a pass rusher, although he is not a direct replacement for the injured players.
Phillips, who is also entering the final year of his rookie contract, adds depth to the Bears' secondary, which has seen significant changes this offseason. The trade allows the Bears to regain a fifth-round pick, enhancing their draft capital for 2027.
