Beaugrand and Hauser Secure Supertri Pro Titles in Jersey
Cassandre Beaugrand and Matt Hauser triumphed at the Supertri Pro Final in Jersey, with each athlete taking home $100,000 from a total prize purse of $800,000. The event showcased top short-course triathletes competing in a thrilling format.
The race began with a 3km swim, followed by a 4km bike and a 1.6km run. Beaugrand led the women out of the water, closely followed by defending champion Jeanne Lehair and others. Several athletes were eliminated due to the 90-second Supertri rule, which affected nine competitors.
Beaugrand maintained her lead throughout the race, overcoming challenges on the technical course. Lehair faced difficulties with her helmet, impacting her performance. Ultimately, Beaugrand finished strong, celebrating her victory with Taylor-Brown, who secured second place, while Lehair completed the podium. In the men's race, Hauser also demonstrated dominance, finishing ahead of Hayden Wilde and Mitch Kolkman, who rounded out the top three.
