Bedingham Leads Durham to Strong Start Against Northamptonshire
On the opening day of the Rothesay County Championship at Wantage Road, David Bedingham scored an unbeaten 57, helping Durham reach 129-3 against Northamptonshire.
Durham faced early challenges, falling to 16-2 after seven overs, but Bedingham's performance, which included nine fours, was pivotal in stabilizing the innings. He formed a crucial partnership of 59 runs with captain Alex Lees before rain interrupted play.
Durham had won the toss and opted to bat, but early wickets fell, including Ben McKinney and Will Rhodes. Despite the setbacks, Bedingham's innings and contributions from Mayank Agarwal, who finished on 25 not out, allowed Durham to close the day on a positive note, although play was limited to 30.5 overs due to weather conditions.
