Ben Bishop's TNA Status After Bound for Glory Debut
Ben Bishop participated in TNA's Call Your Shot battle royal during the Bound for Glory event held recently. The 6'10 wrestler from Rhode Island was one of the last entrants in the match, and while he did not eliminate any competitors, he garnered attention for his performance.
Despite his impressive debut, reports indicate that Bishop has not yet signed a contract with TNA. Those within the organization felt he made a positive impression. Bishop humorously referenced this situation on social media, suggesting it was the reason he was not allowed into the venue for TNA's TV tapings in Dothan, Alabama.
Bishop has been on TNA's radar for some time, although previous attempts to bring him on board were hindered by former TNA booker Tommy Dreamer, who expressed concerns about Bishop's social media content. Dreamer acknowledged that while he had reservations, he did not directly influence the decision not to hire Bishop, attributing it instead to a less favorable tryout in the past. Meanwhile, Bishop continues to perform regularly on the independent circuit and has made appearances in MLW and AEW.
