Ben Davies Joins Football Association of Wales Council

Ben Davies, the captain of the Wales national football team, has been appointed to the Football Association of Wales (FAW) council. The 32-year-old defender, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur, is among eight new members selected to represent players, coaches, and supporters.

Davies, who recently extended his contract with Tottenham for another year, has surpassed 100 caps for Wales and has played over 350 matches for Spurs since joining in 2014. The FAW describes these appointments as a significant step in their governance reforms aimed at better reflecting the current landscape of Welsh football.

The council now includes individuals with diverse backgrounds in football, such as Lauren Smith, a former head coach at Bristol City, and Charl Galloway, co-founder of the Her Game Too Training Centre. The FAW emphasizes the importance of including voices from various sectors to enhance the future of football in Wales.
