Ben Sheppard of the Pacers Diagnosed with Torn Meniscus
Ben Sheppard, a shooting guard for the Indiana Pacers, has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee, as confirmed by the team's injury report.
The injury occurred during a game against New Orleans, and head coach Rick Carlisle indicated that Sheppard will be out for a while, although no specific timeline for his return has been established. Carlisle mentioned that Sheppard could potentially miss a few weeks.
Sheppard, selected 26th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, has been a key player for the Pacers in his first three seasons, including playoff appearances in 2024 and 2025. Last season, he averaged 7.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists over 65 games. He is currently earning around $5 million this season and will be a restricted free agent next summer if he receives a qualifying offer.
