Ben Stokes Signs with Adelaide Strikers for BBL 2026-27 Season
Ben Stokes, the former captain of the England cricket team, has signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the 2026-27 season of the Big Bash League.
The 35-year-old made headlines after retiring from international cricket in June, a decision announced during a Test match against New Zealand. Stokes has an impressive record, having played 122 Tests, 114 one-day internationals, and 43 T20 matches for England, including a memorable performance in the 2019 World Cup final.
Stokes expressed enthusiasm about joining the Strikers, highlighting his enjoyment of playing in Australia and the opportunity to compete in the Big Bash League. He will be available for the entire season, which begins in December. Adelaide Strikers' head coach Tim Paine praised Stokes as one of the greatest all-rounders and expressed excitement about his addition to the team.
