Ben Whitver of Penn State Football Faces DUI Charges
Ben Whitver, a wide receiver for Penn State football, has been charged with driving under the influence in Centre County on Monday, according to court records.
Whitver faces two DUI charges, one related to a Schedule I drug and another for a controlled-substance metabolite. He was also charged with driving the wrong way, with all charges classified as first offenses occurring on July 11.
A preliminary hearing is set for September 30, shortly after Penn State's Big Ten season opener against Wisconsin. Previously, Whitver was charged in April 2026 for driving with headphones and pleaded guilty to that offense. The freshman joined the Nittany Lions after decommitting from JMU, having previously been ranked as a top player in Virginia.
