Beneil Dariush Predicts Khamzat Chimaev's Future Success in Multiple Divisions
Beneil Dariush has expressed confidence in Khamzat Chimaev's potential for success in the UFC, suggesting he could become a champion in multiple divisions. Dariush, a former middleweight champion, noted that Chimaev has faced challenges making weight at 170 pounds, which contributed to the end of his title reign after a loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 328.
Dariush believes that Chimaev should consider moving up to light heavyweight, where he could excel without the difficulties of weight cuts. He pointed out that Chimaev has shown the ability to train effectively with heavyweights, indicating that he could compete successfully in that division as well.
Chimaev has already secured a middleweight title after defeating Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319 and has ambitions to claim titles in additional weight classes. However, his next fight has not yet been scheduled, and he may miss a chance for a rematch with Strickland while dealing with a pay dispute with the UFC.
