Bengals Secure 33-27 Victory Over Buccaneers with Strong Defensive Performance
The Bengals demonstrated their improved defense in a 33-27 victory over the Buccaneers on Sunday, following a significant offseason overhaul.
In the game, the Bengals limited the Buccaneers to 282 yards, forced four fumbles, and recorded four sacks. Notably, Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield lost three fumbles, including one that was returned 27 yards for a touchdown by Bengals linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr. Another fumble was recovered by safety Bryan Cook in the end zone, while running back Bucky Irving also lost possession.
Despite the turnovers, Mayfield managed to score on a 9-yard touchdown run with just over three minutes remaining. However, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow led a decisive drive, covering 54 yards in eight plays to run out the clock. Burrow completed 25 of 35 passes for 254 yards, including a touchdown to tight end Mike Gesicki, while also throwing one interception. Kicker Evan McPherson contributed with field goals from distances of 20, 55, 58, and 32 yards.
