Benhard Janse van Rensburg to Return in December After Head Injuries
Benhard Janse van Rensburg, a centre for Bristol Bears and the England national team, is expected to return to play in December after suffering two significant head injuries in recent months.
The 29-year-old player was stretchered off during a match against Northampton on October 3 after being knocked unconscious while attempting a tackle. He had previously qualified for England in July and made his international debut against Fiji, but sustained another head injury during his second appearance against Argentina.
Following consultations with medical specialists, Janse van Rensburg has been ruled out of England's upcoming Nations Championship campaign. Although he has resumed training with Bristol, he is not yet cleared for contact activities. He will miss the match against Leicester on Friday and is anticipated to play against Bath on December 4, after the international break. Director of rugby Pat Lam confirmed that while Janse van Rensburg is eager to return, the decision was made to prioritize his health and safety.
