Bhuvneshwar Kumar Reflects on Transition from Indian Cricket

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a 36-year-old fast bowler, has expressed that he is no longer actively seeking a return to the Indian cricket team. The player, who last represented India in 2022, emphasized his current focus on enjoying cricket and maintaining a balanced life.

Having played 21 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 87 T20Is, Kumar was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team that won the IPL 2026. He noted that his family has played a significant role in helping him accept his transition from international cricket without regret. He mentioned that he continues to participate in domestic cricket and the UP T20 League out of passion for the sport.

Kumar acknowledged the impact of the IPL on the development of Indian fast bowlers, crediting the league for providing exposure to high-level cricket. He also recognized the contributions of Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri in creating favorable conditions for pace bowlers during his career.
